  • He spent 5 years with his maternal grandfather. His uncle was the chief engineer of the port of Mangalore.

Shahrukh Khan grandfather was Pathan from Afghanistan and his father was an Indian independence activist in Peshawar. Shahrukh Khan’s paternal family is still living in Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani, Bazaar. Shahrukh Khan’s mother was the daughter of a senior government engineer.
